7'Scarlet Review + Walkthroughs

Storyline:
A year ago, your brother goes missing in Okunezato, a crescent-shaped town secluded by nature known for their dark legends and supernatural occurrences. Once the police gave up on the search, your childhood friend offers to Okunezato to investigate what happened yourselves. Upon arriving, they attend the Okunezato Supernatural Club to step a foot closer to the secrets of the town and as to why your brother was there. You are formally introduced to all the characters- and love interests- through the club.

Review:
This is one of the mystery otomes of Summer Mystery Series- and honestly, after playing this game, I'm considering buying the other two games of the series.

Let's just say, I was truly impressed even just minutes into the gameplay. Seconds in, it displays a video of a character running through some eerie-looking woods away from something. There are videos for countless other things as well, such as the bus driving to Okunezato and for even a few jump-scare type moments. Not only this, but the backgrounds move. Although I was initially wary about the art-style, this quickly disappeared through seeing the quality of the game. It is truly the best I've seen.

The storyline is really well balanced as well. The game didn't feel like a romance game, with an element of mystery- like many otomes do. It felt more like it was balanced between the two genres perfectly. The romance starts subtle and grows naturally, so it doesn't feel forced and is developed well. While the mystery plays a strong role throughout the whole gameplay. Honestly, due to this, I found the story interesting throughout the whole game.

This is literally the best otome I've played in years and I felt it was completely worth the $30 I've spent- this is rare for me to think. The story and quality are impressive, so I highly recommend this otome to anyone. Currently, it's available for PlayStation Vita and on Steam, so go and check it out if you have time.

For those you who have the game, I recommend reading the 'Tips'- some of the notes are funny, interesting, or downright eerie.
