Review: Akatsuki no Yona/ Yona of the Dawn

I personally recommend at least watching the first two episodes before reading this (which can be found on YouTube). Also, if you like childhood crushes, vengeance/revenge, or even a bit of a historical anime then I also recommend this to you as well.

I really like the story, it starts off with Yona, who at first was the typical reverse harem protagonist (weak and fragile). She is the princess of a kingdom that is known for having a soft-hearted king who would not even wield a weapon. However after the first two episodes (Spoiler Alert: watch at least this part first) her brotherly figure childhood friend (Su-Won) murders her father and takes over the kingdom (she is almost murdered just trying to escape, but her other childhood friend/bodyguard, Hak, helps her out). After the sudden shock, she then sets out to find all four dragons (from legend) so that she can take vengeance on her cousin/ex-crush and take back her kingdom. Even though along the way she finds out that her father isn't as loved throughout the kingdom as she thought he was and learning about the true state of the kingdom as well.

She develops over time from the weak protagonist to someone fighting to take back her kingdom. I truthfully really liked this 24 episode anime. If you are looking for a good story/show to watch in your free time I definitely would recommend with if you have time to watch it, it's much different than a typical reverse harem. Also, the seconded season isn't set to release until later in 2016. Thanks for reading!
