Kamigami no Asobi Review + Overview

The flower fetish though... xD
Five seconds in, and you see magical boys... What have I gotten myself into this time?! xD I have to say this Reverse Harem is really something, it has lots of fanservice, it's funny, and it's based on mythology (although according to Sky, not all relations are accurate, especially between Balder and Loki). The mythology they used includes Norse, Greek Gods, and two Japanese Gods which are normally called by nicknames (so I don't actually remember their names xD).

The story goes like this, Yui is an ordinary high school girl who lives at a shrine (so she is close to the Gods). One day she hears someone calling her name, she follows the voice and ends up finding an odd sword. She touches it and wakes up in an odd place, the people she meets there seems to be confused as to why they were there as well (it has some weird flower fetish when it comes to introducing characters xD). She comes across Zeus who tells her that he summoned her here to teach these Gods the human heart (due to them becoming distant with the humans themselves). Everyone objects to this plan at first, but after Zeus sealed everyone's power and told them that if they do not succeed this task in one year they will all be stuck there forever, they unwillingly went along with it. They are told that they are to attend 'school' to learn more about human culture and are required to participate in a club (including a 'going home' club).

My final form!
I liked this anime for the most part because they show part of every character's mythology (or story) and show what caused them to become distant with humans in the first place. There is also good character development, and there is a lot of humor in it to even out serious moments. Although, for some characters, I would like to understand a bit more (like Thor, because they didn't go too deep into any of his stories, but you still see him in back flashes with Thor and Balder a lot). Also, as I've mentioned before, some relations are inaccurate, because according to Sky, Balder and Loki were like mortal enemies in actual mythology (but they are more like brotherly love in the Anime, so don't go writing a paper to your English teacher about what you learned from this xD). Oh, and if the magical boy part is what got you interested, then trust me, it starts and ends with those transformations (I guess you could call it their God forms though). Hehe~ Have fun watching!
